Innovative solutions that serve the needs of all children, including the more than 93 million children globally with a disability, are vital to realizing the ideals of Sustainable Development Goal 4. With that in mind, All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development has launched the UnrestrICTed Challenge, a competition calling local and global solvers to submit expressions of interest to scale ICT for education solutions that demonstrate the highest potential to improve language and literacy for early grade children with disabilities. Interested solvers should submit solutions that are grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), proven to improve literacy for children with disabilities, and are scalable in low-resource contexts. Those with technical or contextual expertise are also welcomed to register to participate in the co-design process. Local organizations and disabled persons organizations (DPOs) are highly encouraged to apply. Submissions will be accepted through July 20, 2020.
