The Challenge

Only 5-10% of children can speak French, but all education materials are in French. About half of all students leave school without completing primary education and more than 30% of those who complete the first six years of basic education fail the official exam.

The Big Idea

Introduced interactive whiteboards into classrooms to teach Creole language lessons, while adhering to the Ministry of Education's authorized curriculum. The Creole content helped enhance communication between students and teachers, eliminate social barriers to learning (such as limited local language content), and improve teachers' ability to incorporate technology in the classroom.

Results

Installed 250 interactive whiteboards in classrooms.
