When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, schools in Kenya, like most countries around the world, shut down and implemented distance learning plans through radio and television. Nairobi-based innovator eKitabu began featuring half-hour Digital Story Time episodes, which featured Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) videos and storybooks designed to help all children continue their learning while schools were closed. The episodes, which originally broadcast on Kenyan TV, YouTube and ekitabu.com/TV, are also available at ekitabu.com/digitalstorytime.
