Be part of the solution in assuring every child has access to education on Human Rights Day 2021

Today is Human Rights Day, and All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development (ACR GCD) is highlighting Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Everyone has the right to education.

Education is a proven factor in reducing poverty–and the ability to read plays a crucial role in a child’s opportunity to attend and complete his or her education. Yet children across the world are waiting for the opportunity to learn to read. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and refugee and migration crises, UNESCO reports that the number of children lacking basic reading skills worldwide has grown from 387 million prior to the pandemic to 584 million today.

Education technology innovation and approaches are proven to help address gaps and barriers to child literacy in and outside of school and in crisis and emergency situations.
